Submission Guidelines
Submission Procedure
Submission should be written in manuscript format (here's a link) and should be emailed to sickntwistedlitmag@hotmail.com. Please only attach submissions in .docx format. Include an author bio and a cover letter with your submission.
What We Accept
Send us your flash fiction, poetry, nonfiction, and art! Currently, we are accepting dark fantasy, horror, taboo topics, or anything meant to fascinate or make readers restless in their seats. Feel free to experiment with your work. We do not accept works depicting excessive gore, graphic depictions of sexual crime, or clear demonstrations of violence against a specific identity or disbelief (if any content warnings might be needed, please state that).
FICTION
Fiction works should contain themes surrounding our general bias of taboo, spooky, and twisted— and up to 5 pages in length. We generally look for short stories, but flash fiction (>800 words) is always welcome as long as it is well-crafted. Stories should hook us, keep us interested and engaged, and create that spine-chilling feeling. Spell-check and look for grammar errors in your work before submitting, thank you :)
POETRY
We accept poetry submissions around 500 words in length but we are not too strict on that guideline. We only accept up to three poems from one author at a time but will select one to be published per issue.
NONFICTION
We accept works of nonfiction nature, but sparingly. If you have a piece you believe fits what we are looking for, feel free to include it. It should follow generally the same guidelines as fiction (but be true). We accept works up to 5 pages.
ART
Our art submissions also must follow our magazines' theme. Artwork must be original. If not digital, send a well-lit photo so we can create an online upload.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT WORKS THAT USE THE HELP OF AI.
We are currently accepting simultaneous and multiple submissions. If you get accepted in another magazine, let us know so we can remove your submission. If you are submitting multiple, we may only select one per issue.
